Board of Trustees

The Riviera ISD Board of Trustees is elected by the citizens of the district to ensure a strong educational program for our children.  Trustees are elected on a rotating schedule and serve four year terms. Trustees serve without compensation.  They must be registered voters and reside in the school district.

Regular Board meetings are held in the Kenneth Huff Administrative Office on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m.  These dates are subject to change by the Board of Trustees.  Any change will be posted.  Special meetings can be called by the Board when necessary.  Agendas are posted on the Friday before a school board meeting.  Agendas are posted on the Riviera ISD website and on the front the window of the Administration Building.

Board Members

Billy Colston III - President

Mr. Colston is currently serving as President of the Board of Trustees.  He is a graduate of Kaufer High School and a 1999 graduate of Texas A&M University.   Mr. Colston is manager of the Riviera Telephone Co., Inc.   He and his wife, Michelle, have three children; Austin, Jake and Piper.

Jose (Buddy) Naranjo - Vice President

Mr. Naranjo is currently serving as Vice President of the Board of Trustees.  He is a graduate of Riviera ISD and attended Bee Co. College and Texas A&M University Kingsville.  Mr. Naranjo and his wife, Davida, have three children; Deandre, Andrea and Joey.

Becky Gutierrez - Secretary

Ms. Gutierrez currently serves as Secretary to the Board of Trustees.  She is a graduate of Riviera ISD and attended Texas A&I University Kingsville.  She is a sales representative for Neessen Automotive.  Ms. Gutierrez has three children; Heston, Katy and Dean.

Wilson Martin - Member

Wilson Martin is serving in his 24^th year as a Riviera ISD Trustee.   He graduated from Texas A&I University, Kingsville.   Mr. Martin is a helicopter and fixed-wing pilot, a self-employed boat operator and gauger.  He and his wife, June, have five children; Kelly, Terry, Will, Guy and Sandra.

Tomas (Tommy) Longoria - Member

Mr. Longoria is serving in his first term as a Trustee.   He was born and raised in Riviera and is a graduate of Kaufer High School.    Mr. Longoria is a heavy equipment operator.    He has two children;  Miranda and Tomas, III.

Teresa May - Member

Teresa May is currently serving in the first year of her first term as a Riviera ISD Trustee.  She was born and raised in McAllen, graduated from Sharyland ISD, and attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville.  Mrs. May is a homemaker, and a school, community, and church volunteer.  She is an active member of Our Lady of Consolation Women’s Club.  Teresa is married to Paul C. May.  He works at Celanese in Bishop.  They have three children in elementary; Hannah, Meagan, and Paul Craig.

Burt Bull - Member

Burt Bull is serving his first term as a Trustee. A native of Riviera, he is a graduate of Kaufer High School and attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville. Mr. Bull is a rancher and a business investor. He is a Managing Member of Integrity Energy International, LLC., President of the Bull Foundation, and President of Bull Ranches, Inc.  Mr. Bull and his wife, Linda, have two sons, Dillard and Bryson.
