Scholarship Deadlines
Scholarship notifications will be sent home monthly in the progress reports or report cards and call notifications will be made through the districts messaging system. Scholarship notifications can also be emailed to the students or parents if an email address is provided to the counselor’s office. Please notify Mrs. Stroman at 296-3607 ext. 1323 if you would like to receive email notifications.

December 31 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundations
Applicants should demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and initiative such as: starting his or her own business, participation in organizations such as DECA, FBLA, Junior Achievement and through other initiatives. Apply online at www.NFIB.com/yea and click on “Apply Now” link.
January 9 John F. Kennedy - Profile in Courage Essay Contest

January 29 Del Mar College Workforce Readiness Scholarship
The Corpus Christi Human Resource Management Association is pleased to offer a scholarship for a student attending Del Mar College enrolled in a Career and Technology degree plan. Download a PDF version here.

February 1 UTSA Terry Scholarships
Students must: Demonstrate a record of leadership and service, strong academic abilities, financial need, apply for UTSA by February 1, 2010, apply with FAFSA by March 1, 2010 and apply for housing in Laurel Village by March 1, 2010. Applications available online at www.utsa.edu/terryscholars/

February 12 Ramiro De La Paz Memorial Scholarship – Awarded by Nueces Electric Coop
Available to any graduating senior who is also a dependent of an active Nueces Electric Coop member. The member must have received electric service from NEC for a minimum of six months as of the date the scholarship application is due. Download a PDF version here.
February 15 National Co-Op Scholarship
Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and attend one of the universities listed on the website. Apply online at www.co-op.edu .
February 15 UTSA Honors Scholarships
Students must meet one of the following: Top 10 percent of class, minimum SAT score of 1100, minimum ACT score of 24, and must enroll in the Honors College. Applications available online at www.utsa.edu/honors
February 27 2010 Youth Launch Scholarship For Outstanding Service

March 5 2010 TESA (Texas Elks State Association) Scholarship Award

March 15 Texas Elks State Association Eagle Scout Scholarship

March 29 Charles, Lela, and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship
Applicants must have a least a 3.0 GPA, be a U.S. citizen, and be a Texas resident at the time of application. Apply online at www.midland.edu/admissions/aid/forms/slough.pdf
March 31 Texas Art Scholarship
The Texas Art Scholarship is set aside for High School graduating seniors in the state of Texas who exhibit exceptional artistic abilities and will pursue a major in fine arts at the college level. Applications are available in the counselor’s office. Download a PDF version here.
