De La Paz Middle School presently has 107 students enrolled in grades 6-8.  The staff consists of 11 teachers and support staff.  The school is named after Mr. Ramiro De La Paz, long-time Riviera educator.  He was the principal of the elementary and middle school for 17 years and employee of Riviera ISD for thirty-three years.

De La Paz Middle School offers students the opportunity to participate in U.I.L. activities, sports, band, and a variety of organizations.

This year De La Paz Middle School will complete its 4th year in the Technology Immersion Project Grant from TEA.  The project was funded for $414,848.00.  Our campus purchased laptops for all students and teachers, a video conferencing system, multimedia projectors, laser printers, digital cameras and other equipment.  Teachers on campus work with instructors from Pearson and ESC-2 for professional development.  Click the link to learn more about this grant.
