Ford Salute to Education Scholarship

ALL seniors are eligible and have received an application. Decision is based on answers to four essay questions. If 100% of the senior class turns in an application, we may have 3 scholarships awarded to our students. First student to complete a satisfactory application and turn it in to me wins a t-shirt. $500. It is matched by area colleges and universities.

Outstanding Student of America: Applications are available in the counselor’s office or can be downloaded through FASTWEB.

Texas A&M-Kingsville Admissions Applications

If students will turn the one-page application into me as soon as possible, I can get the $15.00 application fee waived. Even if you think you aren’t going there, applying is free and the application takes less than 5 minutes to fill out. Take advantage of that.

Texas A&M University Partnership in Primary Care Program

Students are admitted as undergraduates and guaranteed a spot in medical school. Top 10%. SAT 1200/ACT 26

National Academy of Television Arts and Science

Application must be postmarked by Tuesday, December 9, 2003. Must major in communications or other television related career.

AXA Achievement Scholarship

To qualify, you should be well-rounded, determined to succeed, and have achieved excellence outside the classroom – at a job, a sport or extra-curricular activity. Go to www.axa-achievement.com and download application or pick one up in the counselor’s office. Deadline: December 15, 2003.

Burger King Scholars

Carr Academic Scholarship

For students attending Angelo State University. Minimum ACT:21/SAT:970 Fill out brochure and mail in request for application. These are available in counselor’s office.

Mensa Scholarship Essay Contest

Awards are made on the basis of an essay of no more than 550 which describes the applicant’s career, vocational, or academic goals. Deadline: Must be postmarked before January 15.

Micron Science and Technology Program

For students majoring computer science, physics, chemistry, and engineering. Minimum SAT score: 1350/ ACT 30.

Nueces Electric Company

Parents must be a customer. Deadline for scholarships is February 13, 2004. Applications available in counselor’s office.

Ayn Rand Essay Contest

11^th and 12^th graders read the The Fountainhead. Information is available in counselor’s office.

University of Houston Legacy Scholarship

For sons or daughters of UH alumni. Deadline: April 1, 2004. Application available in the counselor’s office.

Toyota Community Scholars

One student is selected to represent Kaufer High School. If you would like to be considered, please submit nomination form to Mrs. Alvarez by October 31. This is a rough draft and does not need to be typed. We will type the application of the student who is selected.
